Srimangal is a rural dreamland. So many different types of green, amazing landscape and very friendly people. After a few days in the capital Dhaka, I am in my way too one of the most beautiful places on earth...

...The ride takes on average four hours but averages means nothing in Bangladesh. Be prepared to pay around 400 Taka (3,80 EUR). There are many bus companies going to Srimangal.
We have taken one named Shiamoly, because they drive safely and slowly. In addition, the driver takes a video of all passengers before starting the journey, which can be helpful in an emergency
case. Buses go almost every hour.
...When you take the last bus at 11.30 you´ll arrive in Srimangal at around 4 am, right where you spot the first shops of the town. The train station has some shops and cafes that are open all
night and which provide a good shelter to spend one hour until the sun rises.
We started our day at 5 am with a jungle walk in Lawachara National Park. Take a CNG for 150 Taka (1,30 Euro) to reach this wonderful place. We were welcomed from a group of monkeys having their
breakfast and a colorful spider. Driving all the way to the national park you´ll find a lot of cottages and hostels and it´s going to be difficult to make your decision because every single one
looks so nice.
We stayed in a place named “Heed Bangladesh” which is a NGO hospital and cottage at the same time. To find that, continue the main road in the national park until you think here cannot come any more cottages. From this point still 10 kilometres. It´s going to be difficult to find any public transport down there, so basically just stop a truck, climb on the roof and pay 20 Taka at the end. This is so much fun, see the pictu

...If you don´t feel comfortable doing so, ask any CNG driver for his telephone number, which is very common in Bangladesh, and call him.
Worth a trip is the lake “Madhab Pur Lake”. The entrance is 10 Taka (9 Cents). There, you can walk through the tea estates and boys are lucky to take a cool swim as well...
...On your way you pass through the little village Kamal Gairir with a very tasty restaurant opposite of the pharmacy on the second floor. Food has good quality, stuff is friendly and the prices are reasonable as we paid 1000 Taka (9 Euro) for five people.
